No matter what and where your son or daughter goes on to study, no matter what career he or she decides to pursue, online learning and online collaboration will play an important role.

Diploma courses online:

• are developed and taught by experienced IB teachers, who are specially trained in online pedagogy

• make use of the most important Web 2.0 tools (Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, RSS Feeds, etc)
• are supported by a trained Site-based Coordinator on your son's/daughter's school campus who will support, monitor and keep you informed regarding your son's/daughter's progress
• encourage students to develop their own ability to learn
• feature a class size between 10 and 25 students
• feature a truly global classroom, with students from around the world working together
• have the same status as a course taught in a traditional IB classroom
• are developed and delivered in accordance with the IB's rigorous online course approval standards
• meet formal IB assessment standards:
  • Internal assessments are fully recognised by the IB, and are equivalent in rigour and status to those in a face-to-face classroom.
  • Final assessments are taken under normal examination conditions, in your son or daughter´s own school.

We have designed a questionnaire to enable your students to develop a greater understanding for the experience of online learning and identify any obstacles they may encounter in this new environment. Asking students to complete this form will allow them to self-assess their strengths and to identify potential challenges that they can overcome in advance.
