The McCall MacBain Foundation

The McCall MacBain Foundation was founded in March 2007 and is registered in Geneva, Switzerland. The Foundation’s mission is to improve the welfare of humanity through focused grants in healthcare, education and the environment.

The Foundation’s strategy is to develop and encourage best practices and policies in a variety of areas related to improving the human condition. Equitable distribution of healthcare and education are key priorities. The Foundation has a strong regional focus on sub-Saharan Africa, and is currently doing much of its work in Liberia. Current projects involve improving maternal health, adult education and reducing risks associated with climate change. The Foundation seeks to invest in both individuals and organizations that share its vision to stimulate local communities and generate local solutions.

With strong leadership and sensibly allocated resources the foundation believes that the Liberians will choose peace along with a vast improvement in their quality of life. As Liberia resurrects itself from the ashes of 14 years of violent civil conflict, Liberia has the potential to show exemplary progress and social welfare to other countries in the region.

A recent article on the work being done in Liberia can be found on the Liberian government’s web site (emansion.gov.lr).

Profits from Pamoja Education will go to the foundation to help support projects in Liberia and other countries.
