German (Language A) SL

Guide to the IB subject

The structure of groups 1 and 2 of the IB Diploma Programme has been changed for language courses on offer from September 2011. The new Language A: Literature courses takes the place of the previous Language A1 courses.

Course description

German Language A: Literature develops understanding of the techniques involved in literary criticism, and promotes the ability to form independent literary judgments. It is a flexible course that allows teachers to choose literary works from prescribed book lists, and to construct a course that suits the particular needs and interests of their students.

The new subject guides for Language A courses will be published in January 2011. A more detailed course description will be posted to this page as soon as it is available.
